Renewal Period

The renewal period refers to the number of days allowed for a member to renew their membership. During this time, Tradewing sends out renewal notices to members who have opted for a non-automatic renewal. For auto-renewal members, the renewal notices contain details about when their automatic payment will be charged.

Three emails will be sent to members during the renewal period. The first email will provide an initial renewal notice, highlighting the benefits of membership, any changes in terms, and a reminder to renew. A second email will be sent halfway through the renewal period as an additional reminder. Finally, a third email will be sent one day before the membership expiration date with a more urgent call to action.

Setting the Renewal Period

The renewal period can be customized for each membership type, allowing different durations before the renewal period begins.

1) Create a membership type, or click on an existing membership type that you wish to modify the renewal period.

2) Scroll down and navigate to the Existing Member Settings. Enter the number of days you want to set before the renewal period begins. Once you have done this, save the necessary changes.

Tip: We suggest setting the renewal period to 30 days to provide members with ample notice, allowing them sufficient time to consider their renewal options.

Disabling Renewal Reminders

You have the option to turn off renewal reminders for specific membership types. When this feature is disabled, members associated with that membership type will not receive any email notifications when their renewal period begins.

1) To disable renewal reminders, create a membership type, or click on an existing membership type that you wish to modify.

2) Simply toggle the switch to the "on" position. Once activated, the button will display a violet color, indicating that renewal reminders have been successfully turned on. When the display indicates a gray color, it means that the renewal reminders are turned off.

Grace Period

The Grace Period is the time frame during which members can still renew their memberships without incurring penalties or losing member benefits, even after their membership has officially expired. While in the Grace Period, members will have their status labeled as "Graced" in the membership export. Before the end of the Grace Period, a final reminder will be sent to members, encouraging them to complete their renewal. After the grace period concludes, members will need to obtain a new membership, as they will no longer have the option to renew their existing membership.

Setting the Grace Period

Setting the Grace Period follows the same process as the renewal period. Adjust the number of days according to your preferences, and save the changes you have made.

Tip: We recommend a 30-day grace period for members to update their credit cards or payment methods without losing their membership or purchasing a new one.
