Overview of Tradewing's Integration

This article provides an overview of how Tradewing's integration functions with other AMS, as well as its integration capabilities and requirements.

Tradewing was designed to streamline member management and foster community engagement within associations. Integrations enable two completely different systems to communicate data between one another in the form of reading data and/or writing data. Tradewing integrates seamlessly with your Association Management System (AMS). This integration ensures that user data flows effortlessly from your AMS to Tradewing, enabling automatic processing of membership and accurate reporting.

How Data Flows to Tradewing

The flow of user data from an Association Management System (AMS) to Tradewing typically happens through an integration process that involves data synchronization between the two systems. Here's a general outline of how the data flow works:

  1. Data Connection Setup: The integration between Tradewing and the AMS is established via an API (Application Programming Interface) or through a secure data exchange mechanism. This connection ensures that both systems can communicate and share data in real-time or on a scheduled basis.

  2. Data Mapping: The user data fields in the AMS are mapped to the corresponding fields in Tradewing. This ensures that information such as member details, renewal statuses, and other relevant data is properly transferred between the systems.

  3. Data Sync: Once the connection and mapping are set up, the AMS sends user data—such as member profiles, contact information, and membership status—to Tradewing. This is done every day from 2 AM to 4 AM Pacific Standard Time, and can be triggered in real-time depending on the needs of the association.

  4. Data Processing in Tradewing: After the data is transferred to Tradewing, the system processes it to ensure that member records are up-to-date and reporting functions are based on the most current information.

  5. Ongoing Updates: Whenever there is a change in the AMS (e.g., new member sign-up, membership renewal, or updated contact information), the integration ensures that the data is automatically synced with Tradewing to reflect those changes. This helps keep the Tradewing system aligned and minimizes manual data entry.

Integration Capabilities

User Sync

User Sync refers to the process of transferring individual member profiles from the Association's AMS directly into a Tradewing Community instance. It works by pulling over all user profiles, both members and non-members, from the AMS.

Group Sync

Group Sync is the integration process through which Tradewing imports groups and their associated members from the Association Management System (AMS) into the Tradewing platform. Tradewing will import the groups specified by the association from the AMS and create matching groups within the Tradewing platform. Additionally, it will also transfer the members associated with each of these groups.

Single Sign-On (SSO)

Single Sign-On (SSO) enables users to log in to the Tradewing Platform using their existing login credentials from their association's AMS. In Tradewing, the Single Sign-On (SSO) process operates as follows:

1. The user begins by navigating to a specific Tradewing URL.

2. They are automatically redirected to the login page of their Association Management System (AMS).

3. The user then enters their AMS credentials, including their username and password.

4. After successful authentication, the user is redirected back to the original Tradewing URL they intended to access.
