What is the website builder for?

The website builder in Tradewing allows associations to create and customize their member engagement platform to suit their community's needs. With this tool, you can design a branded, user-friendly website that enhances the member experience without needing technical expertise.

Key features of the website builder include the ability to:

  • Set up and manage web pages
  • Build discussion forums and resource hubs
  • Customize the overall look and feel of the platform

By using the website builder, you can provide a personalized and visually appealing space where members can easily access content, interact with each other, and engage in community activities. This customization helps ensure the platform remains relevant and engaging for your members, driving participation and fostering a strong, active community.

Who can view the contents of the website?

There are two methods available for managing access to the content of the pages you create:

The first method can be found on the main page of the website builder. By utilizing the Permission dropdown menu, you can designate the default access level for the pages generated within the website builder.

The second method occurs when you create a new page; at this time, you will have the opportunity to specify the viewing permissions next to the URL Slug for the page you are creating.

  • Public - Any individual possessing the link to the website will have the ability to access and view the content of the created page.
  • Logged-in Users - Any user who is logged in to the platform will have access to view the content of the created page.
  • Members Only - Only users who hold member status will be permitted to access and view the content of the created page.

Key Terms

When building pages using the website builder, understanding the key elements that make up your site’s structure is essential. Here’s a brief overview of some important terms you'll encounter as you customize and organize your pages:

  1. Page: A distinct section or screen on the website, typically used to display specific content such as information, resources, or member features. Each page can be customized with various design elements and functionality.

  2. URL Slug: The unique part of a website's URL that identifies a specific page, typically reflecting the page’s content or purpose. It’s often customized to be SEO-friendly and user-readable (e.g., "member-resources" in "www.example.com/member-resources").

  3. Hero: The large, visually prominent section at the top of a webpage, often containing a background image or video, a headline, and a call-to-action. It’s the first thing users see when they land on the page.

  4. Rich Text: Text content that includes formatting options such as bold, italics, bullet points, hyperlinks, and headings. It allows for enhanced presentation and readability of written information on a page.

  5. Heading: A text element used to define sections or subsections of content. Headings are typically larger or bolder than regular text to help organize the content and improve navigation on a page.

  6. Card Group: A layout component that organizes content into visually distinct "cards." Each card usually contains a title, an image, a description, and a link. It’s often used for displaying multiple items, such as events, profiles, or resources, in a clean, easily navigable format.

  7. Image Group: A collection or gallery of images displayed together in a visually appealing manner. It allows for multiple images to be shown in one section, often with the ability to customize the layout and display style.
