Membership
For associations using Tradewing as their membership database, membership analytics helps track community growth, revenue trends, and membership retention across various types and categories. Here’s a detailed explanation of the different features of membership analytics, as well as instructions on how to export the report.
- Specify the start and end dates for the analytics range shown on the dashboard.
2. Select the Membership Category and Membership Type to display on the dashboard. If left unconfigured, the dashboard will default to showing all membership categories (including both individual and corporate) and all existing membership types.
3. At the top of the screen, you will find a summary of your membership data presented in a series of interactive cards.
NOTE: Each card can be clicked to reveal a detailed list of users corresponding to the specific category described on the card.
- Active: The total number of members with current and valid memberships in good standing.
- Lapsed: The total number of former members who have not renewed their memberships by the designated due date. These members no longer have access to the benefits and privileges of active membership.
- Individual: The total number of users who hold standalone individual memberships, not affiliated with any organization.
- Corporate: The total number of users whose memberships are provided through their company’s or organization’s group subscription.
- Revenue: The total amount of membership-generated revenue for the community.
4. The x-axis of the graph represents the total number of active memberships, while the y-axis shows the months of the year. If the selected date range spans more than one year, each year will be displayed in the upper-right corner of the dashboard, with a designated color corresponding to its line on the graph.
These colored lines make it easy to distinguish between different years. You can click on any of the listed years to toggle their visibility, allowing you to show or hide specific years from the graph as needed.
5. Hovering over a data point on the graph will display the total number of active members for that month; these are members whose status is in good standing. To download a summarized report of the total number of active members for the selected year or years, simply click the Export button located in the upper-right corner of the dashboard.
To download a more detailed export of your active members, click on the specific month you wish to export. This will prompt a pop-up window to appear; simply click the Export button located in the upper right corner of the pop-up to download the file.
6. Scrolling down will take you to the Revenue dashboard. In this section, the x-axis displays the amount of revenue generated, while the y-axis represents the months of the year.
Similar to the Active Memberships graph, if the selected date range includes multiple years, each year will be represented by a uniquely colored line. These years appear in the upper-right corner of the graph and can be toggled on or off to customize the data displayed.
7. Hovering over a point on the line graph will reveal the amount of revenue generated for that specific month. Clicking the data point will display the revenue data for that indicated month. To download a summarized report of the total revenue per month for the selected year or years, simply click the Export button located in the upper-right corner of the dashboard.
To obtain a more detailed export of all transactions related to your association, simply click on the specific data point or the month of interest. This action will prompt a pop-up window where you can adjust the date range as needed. Once you have finalized your selections, click the export button located in the upper right corner to download the report.
This is how the export will look:
8. If you want to export data for members with a specific membership type, start by searching for that particular type.
- Member refers to the total number of individual users who hold that membership type. Clicking the numbers displayed under the member section will reveal a detailed list of individuals who hold that specific membership type. To obtain a comprehensive export of member details, including user names, email addresses, membership types, and membership terms, simply click the export button located in the upper right corner.
- Memberships refer to the number of companies associated with that membership type. Clicking the numbers displayed under the membership section will reveal a detailed list of companies that hold that specific membership type, along with the dates of their enrollment.
Note: For individual membership types, the member and memberships will be the same, as each membership is tied to a single user.
9. To download a summarized export containing all the membership types and their members and membership count, click the Export button to download the report.
10. The Member Retention graph provides a visual representation of membership longevity. The x-axis indicates the number of full years a member has remained continuously active, while the y-axis shows the number of members who have maintained their membership for that duration.
Hovering over a data point reveals the number of members within that specific retention band. Selecting a data point will present a list of members who have maintained their membership within your community for the specified duration.
When you select a data point (for example, 21 members who have been active for 1 year), a pop-up window will appear displaying the list of users who have maintained their membership within the association.
To download a summarized data, simply click the Export button on the upper right.
